Ding! Guild Level 11

Level 11 - Mobile Banking - January 13, 2011

Once an hour (each player has their own cooldown) a guild bank can be summoned that anybody can access for 5 minutes. This will prove to be quite handy and save much bag room in the future.

Valiona and Theralion (25) Down

First Kill - Valiona and Theralion (25 Normal) - January 11, 2011

In less time than it took for us to down Halfus, we took down the dragons Valiona and Theralion. It wasn’t the cleanest kill, but it was still a kill and they dropped loot for the raid. That’s all that counts. It’s sure to get smoother the more we experience and polish the fight.

The Warcraft Gods blessed us with useful loots on this first kill, including three trinkets. Congratulations to those who received the following: [Theralion's Mirror], [Drape of the Twins], [Ring of Rivalry], and [Vial of Stolen Memories] twice!

Halfus Wyrmbreaker (25) Down

First Kill - Halfus Wyrmbreaker (25 Normal) - January 11, 2011

Tonight began the first week of official raiding and our first stop into the new content as a 25 man raid group. With some experience in Bastion of Twilight, we decided to begin this expansion there and take on Halfus Wyrmbreaker. We almost one shot him to begin, but came up a bit short on damage and hit the enrage timer. Healing wasn’t terribly over-taxed, so we swapped out a healer for some more dps and took him down without much trouble.

First pieces looted from Halfus were: [Proto-Handler's Gauntlets], [Bracers of the Bronze Flight], [Book of Binding Will], and a double shot of [Essence of the Cyclone].

Critter Holocaust 2011!

Critter Holocaust! January 07-09, 2011

This weekend Bind held a critter killing competition to work our way towards 50,000 critter deaths and score us the right to purchase Armadillo Pup via Critter Kill Squad.

Mass annihilation of critters went better than expected and the 50k mark was hit without much trouble. Our group of critter killers continued on and hit 100k for Crittergeddon later in the day.

Thank you to everybody that came out and participated during the event. The top three critter assassins were:

Czerae – 12,588 critters laid to rest
Spidas – 11,546 critters snatched from existence
Seyeght – 10,828 critters transferred into a non-living state

Ding! Guild Level 10

Level 10 - Chug-A-Lug (Rank 1) - January 08, 2011

Additional duration on buffs is nice, but mage food from the guild vendor at no cost would have been a much better reward for this guild level. It’s free, so we really can’t complain…much.

Valiona and Theralion (10) Down

First Kill - Valiona and Theralion (10 Normal) - January 04, 2011

We went back into The Bastion of Twilight tonight with some players that hadn’t been there before. After handling Halfus Wyrmbreaker in two attempts, we took out dragons Valiona and Theralion. Our first look at the twin dragon’s loot scored the guild [Necklace of Strife] and [Theralion's Mirror] to the raid.

Afterward we knocked out Argaloth following a brilliant defense by the Horde, but sadly he only dropped PVP gear (one of them for warlock – which we had zero in the group).

Ding! Guild Level 8

Level 8 - Hasty Hearth - December 30, 2010

Our hearthstones now only have a fifteen minute cooldown. We’re all Shaman now! Well, almost. Theirs is shorter, and not all of us can fat finger a bloodlust. (not talking about any one particular shaman here – the sausage finger lust slipup has been around as long as the spell)

Pre-Official Raid Kills

First Kill - Halfus Wyrmbreaker (10 Normal) - December 28, 2010

While official raiding has not yet begun, that hasn’t stopped our members from taking a look into the new raid dungeons. A few have pugged various groups over the past few weeks, but today marked the first kills within a full guild group. First stop was Baradin Hold to take down Argaloth. Next came Halfus Wyrmbreaker in The Bastion of Twilight. Nice job getting in there and getting a head start for 25 mans!

Ding! Guild Level 7

Level 7 - Reinforce (Rank 1) - December 25, 2010

If you make it a habit of: 1) standing in the fire, 2) pulling too many mobs, 3) just being bad, or all three of those – this level reward is for you. Now repairs won’t cost as much.

Happy 4th Anniversary BIND!

Happy 4th Anniversary BIND!For a fourth wedding anniversary, it’s said the “modern” gift is linen or silk. Those seem pretty shitty to me. I seem to recall outgrowing those low level cloths a long time ago.

In any case, it’s been four years since Bind was formed. The days of Vanilla Wow were creeping to an end and raid guilds built with 40 mans in mind were crumbling. A small group of us left one of those guilds and began fresh. Four years later and we’re still here. Here’s looking toward the fifth!

Seyeght’s Fishing Extravaganza!

Seyeght's Fishing Extravaganza! December 25-26, 2010

In an effort to get us closer to unlocking Recipe: Seafood Magnifique Feast with That’s A Lot of Bait, Seyeght has prepared a fishing event for the holiday weekend. Details can be found in the forums on how you can participate along with prizes for those who help the most.

12/27 Update:
Seyeght’s Fishing Extravaganza netted (bad pun) the guild just under 3,000 additional fish toward the 10k goal. Sunderwhere lead the effort with an amazing 915 fish caught from pools for the contest. SFE2 will be coming soon!

Ding! Guild Level 6

Level 6 - Fast Track (Rank 2) - December 21, 2010

Good news for alts and also those slow folks that haven’t made the full transition back into the game since the release of Cataclysm (really? you exist?). We’ll keep capping and the levels will keep coming.

Pickin up the Perks!

Hitting level five opened up the right to purchase a seventh bank tab with Extended Storage. Thousands of gold later, [Guild Vault Voucher (7th Slot)] was in our hands.

In the time since Cataclysm was released, we’ve also been able to snag a few smaller rewards along the way. First was a [Guild Page] thanks to completing Alliance Slayer. The next was [Standard of Unity] which we got from Guild Cataclysm Dungeon Hero.

So what’s next on the list? We have a guild fishing event planned to help us achieve That’s A Lot of Bait. It will unlock the ability for our chefs to pick up Recipe: Seafood Magnifique Feast.

Ding! Guild Level 5

Level 5 - Cash Flow (Rank 1) - December 18, 2010

Hitting the experience cap each day, it is only a matter of time before we’ll be at level 25. To help us along the way, Bind can now generate positive cashflow from everyday activities. This money will help when it comes time for flasks, repairs, and other expenses related to progression.

Ding! Guild Level 3

Level 3 - Mount Up - December 11, 2010

Another level, this time increasing our mounted speed for leveling and farming. We’re capping every day (but who isn’t? wtb a higher cap!) and moving toward our next level. More and more players are hitting 85 and the heroic grind has begun. If you’re looking for a guild or considering a transfer to Archimonde, check us out.

Ding! Guild Level 2

Level 2 - Fast Track (Rank 1) - December 8, 2010

A day in and we’ve reached our first mini-milestone. In the wee hours approximately 24 hours after Cataclysm launched, we reached level two. Moments later, Thrøxx became our first level 85 character. Many others should get there this coming weekend.
